: Sioux Falls - Marian E. Schelling, 75, formerly of Armour, died at her home in Sioux Falls, SD under hospice care on Friday, May 12, 2017 surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at The Lighthouse Fellowship Church in Corsica, SD with visitation starting at 1:00 PM. Committal service will follow the funeral service at Graceland Cemetery in Corsica. Visitation will be Heartland Funeral Home in Brandon, SD on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Marian E. Schelling was born July 11, 1941 in Englewood, CO to Kenneth and Estelle (Sjogren) Barrett. She grew up in the Denver, CO area. She graduated from Douglas County High School in Castlerock, CO. She married Rochus W. Schelling, Sr. on June 30, 1961 in Denver, CO. They farmed in the Harrison area from 1962-1964 and the Armour area from 1964-1981 when they moved to Sioux Falls. Rochus died on April 15, 1989. Marian worked at Litton Microwave and in the bakery at Randalls Foods. Before retiring in 2009 Marian worked at Sanford Laundry for 20 years. She spent her years of retirement with her companion Maltese dog, Jasper, and visit-ing with her children, grandchildren, and great-children. She enjoyed many days sewing and making quilts. Marian died on Friday, May 12, 2017 at her home in Sioux Falls under hospice care surrounded by her family.
