Arthur J. Burton, 88, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017, in River Bluff Nursing Home. He was born December 27, 1928, in Portage, Wisconsin, the son of David Arthur and Alvina B. (Frederick) Burton.

Art served in the United States Marines and Air Force. He married Delores A. Feldt on March 17, 1955, in Portage. He was employed with Gates Rubber Company from 1966-1991, until he retired.

He was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, belonged to Rockford Harmony Singing Society, Belvidere VFW Lodge and Men's Club.

He is survived by: his wife, Delores; daughters, Kathy (Sam) Tardio, Karen (Mike) Koonmen, Karol (Steve) Livingston, and Kelly (Eldon Stone) Burton; grandchildren, Eric Tardio, Nicole Livingston, Andrew and Victoria Koonmen; sisters, June (Delbert) Anderson and Kathryn "Tootie" (Bill) Hinickle; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased by: his parents; and sister, Opal Hamale.

Funeral service on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rockford. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
