Obituary--Mrs. J.R. Maynard Buried Last Thurs.

Many hearts were made sad last Wednesday night when the Death Angel crept into our midst and carried away a very sweet, noble and lovable woman, Mrs. J.R. Maynard. With the same sweet smile that she had for her friends and acquaintances on the street, she met each care, trouble and heartache of her home and family, never worrying or letting the other person if it was in her power to say or do any thing to prevent it. To know her was to love her and her friends were without number.
Mrs. Maynard was a woman who loved the Lord and never turned down an opportunity to do service for Him. Miss Mattie Love Bradshaw was born in Tennessee in the year 1882, coming to Texas when she was about two years of age. She married the Rev. J.R. Maynard in 1900.
Besides her husband three daughters survive, Mrs. J.L. Shanks, Fort Worth; Mrs. H.L. Hughes, Fort Worth, and Mrs. M.B. Cox, Mexia. One brother, D.B. Bradshaw, Fort Worth, and one sister, Mrs. J.L. Price, Coolidge, also survive.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church, Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. A.E. Harrison of Groesbeck, assisted by Rev. Eugene Harris of Teague, with interment following in the Delia cemetery.
