This memorial added based on information from Mud Creek Cemetery reading compiled in 1987 and found at Lebanon Library, Boone County, Indiana.
The reading shows the name as E.S. Burgess.
My belief is that this is Edward Saunders Burgess, who was born in North Carolina to Edward Burgess and Morning Herring on 27 May 1814 (per Ancestry.com). Married to Miriam Rich (6 Aug 1835 in NC) and then Mary Jane Bowers Smith (4 Oct 1864 in Boone County Indiana).
The cemetery reading shows the death date to be Mar 12 1832. I believe this is a mis-read of the tombstone so I changed to 1882 - consistent with Edward S. Burgess' death information, and the age recorded in the cemetery reading.
