MINONK - John H. Davison, 74, of 208 Maple Ave., Minonk, died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday (April 9, 1998) at Eureka Community Hospital, Eureka.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, with the Rev. Harry Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery, rural Minonk, where military rites will be accorded. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Minonk VFW Post No. 7185 located at 541 Oak St., Minonk.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Mr. Davison was born July 8, 1923, in Clayton Township, Woodford County, a son of Lester and Doris Kerrick Davison. He married Shirley A. Mayer on Oct. 30, 1946, at Metamora. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Les (Carrie) Davison, Arlington, Va.; two daughters, Ann Liebler, Portage, Ind.; and Linda Davison, rural Minonk; one brother, W. Harry (Helen) Davison, Sandwich; and one sister, Betty (Mike) Woods, Pensacola, Fla.

He is also survived by two granddaughters, Tracy Kindred, Washington, Mich.; and Angi Davison, Annandale, Va.

Mr. Davison was a member of Minonk Baptist Church, Minonk. He received his wings and commission Dec. 26, 1944, in Pensacola and served as a carrier pilot with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a 50-year member of the Minonk American Legion.

He was past president and a member of the Minonk-Dana-Rutland school board. He was a Pioneer Farm Bureau farm management board member, member of farm bureau service company board for 25 years, member of the board of Minonk State Bank, and past president of Tall Oaks Country Club, Toluca.
