Ella “Faye” Gibbons, 83, of Shelby passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at OhioHealth Shelby Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born on April 10, 1934 in Portsmouth, OH to Challie and Dixie (Hutchison) Pace and was raised in the Wheelersburg, Ohio area.
Ella or “Faye” as she was better known by, enjoyed doing oil paintings and portraits, and loved her pets and birds. In her younger years, she was a friend and “Mom” to many people she had known throughout her life. Faye trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and always relied on him to get her through the roughest times in her life. She will be missed and never forgotten. Our Mom, our friend, sister, aunt, grandmother and fond relative of many.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory three children, Joyce (Richard) Gollehon, Sherrie McClain, and Daniel McNutt; eight grandchildren, Tony (Carrie) Summers, Joshua (Ashley) Enright, Jacob Diemer, Gary McClain, Zachary McNutt, Sarah McNutt, Travis Jeffers and Andrea Hopkins; her great grandchildren, Anthony, Matthew, Lyla, Carter, Amiya, Christopher, Raidyn, Benjamin, and Penny; her brothers, Earl Dean (Sharon) Pace, William (Pamela) Pace, and James (Shelia) Pace; her sisters, Cleo (Jim) Corley, and Mary Lynn (Randy) Fisher; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Pace and Calla Pace; special friends, Rose Barnett and Sandy Bunce; and many friends and relatives too numerous to mention.

She is preceded in death by her parents; children’s father, Richard McNutt; her husband, John Gibbons; a son, Baby William Matthew; a granddaughter, Laura Summers; her brothers, Challie and Alan Pace; and a sister, Alberta Maresh.
The family will welcome friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Mel Schroeder will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery.
