Amy Cleota Wood, daughter of Robert A. and Minerva Millen, was born June 20, 1888, at Dallas, and passed away unexpectedly following a heart attack at her home Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1901. She died at the age of 72 years, six months and 13 days.
On Sept. 4, 1907, she was united in marriage to Roy Wood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Mrs. Bertie Colwell and Mrs Eunice McCoy, and a sister, Rosa, who died in infancy.
She united with the Methodist church at an early age, and was a devoted and faithful member who could always be depended upon to do her full part both in the church and community.
She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Mrs. Lois Hunter of Melcher, four nephews, Wrex Colwell, Knoxville, Ward Colwell, Dallas, Worth McCoy, Chariton, and Bob Colwell, Knoxville, a niece, Mrs. Kenneth Woody, Knoxville, and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She will be greatly missed by her relatives and wide circle of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Melcher Methodist church Friday, Jan. 6, at 130 p.m. Interment was in the Gosport cemetery.

She cared for her aged father until his death!
