Leo Ray Placzek, 58, of Parkview Trailer Court, Columbus, died thrusday, Nov. 22 1990, at the Veterans Admisistration Medical Center in Omaha.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Isdore's Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Rodney Kneifl officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Hartman Post # 84.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home in Collumbus. There will be a 7:30 p.m. rosary that evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Placzek was born Sept. 12, 1932 in Tarnov, to Florian J. and Balbina J.(Zoucha) Placzek. He attended St. Anthony and St. Bonaventure schools in Columbus. He was a lifetime resident of Columbus where he was employed at Behlen Mfg. and Greineer Furniture.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War from June 27, 1951 to June 26 1954 and received the Korean Service Medal with two stars.
Surviving are four brothers, Ted and Ambrose of Columbus, Florian and James of Omaha; four sisters Terry Dush and Minnie White of Columbus, Viola Kanitz of Buena Park, CA and Mary Ann Zelasney of Niceville, FL.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
