LANCASTER: Dorothy E. Brengman, age 100, of Lancaster, died at Primrose on May 9th, 2017. She was born on June 13, 1916 to the late Paul and Nettie Marquardt Voelk in Chicago. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and also the Little Country Church where she played the piano. She was a past President of the Lancaster Music Club, Community Concerts, Fairfield Garden Club, and the Michigan P.T.A. She was also a life member of the Associated Country Women of the World, a member of the General Purpose Committee of A.C.W.W. , Past OSU Mothers Club, and helped found the Cass County Mental Health Association in Logansport, IN. She also volunteered at South School's Computer Class. She worked for 34 + years for her husband's company, F.C. Brengman and Associates. Dorothy was an amazing woman who lived life fully and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, James (Melva) Loro; daughter, Diane (Tom) Getz; stepchildren; Wayne (Sharlene) Brengman, Larry (Lynne) Brengman, and Bruce (Gail) Brengman, Roberta (Tom) Shreyer; 14 grandchildren, Heynia Loro-Cooley, Sterling Loro, Joylene Loro, Nadene Snapp, Janel Waldschmidt, Jason Getz, Kristina Bate, Jill Woods, Rebecca Knisley, Stuart Brengman, Jason Brengman, Jacob Shreyer, Alison Trickett, Amanda Teagardner and 29 great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Brengman; parents; step-son, Keith Brengman; brother, George Voelk; and sister, Ruth Bell.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 18th at 10:30AM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Dr. William Beausay. Burial will follow at Tschopp Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 17th from 5PM until 7PM at the funeral home. Memorials in Dorothy's name can be made to a local charity of your choice .
