He worked in the grocery business first at the the Supreme Market in Broadalbin and later as a store manager of Loblaws in Gloversville for twenty five years. After he moved to the Schenectady area he continued to work until he retired in 2005.
In Gloversville he was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and usher.
He enjoyed bowling in local leagues biking and running
Predeceased by his parents; two siblings, Robert Bentley and Dorothy Sawyer; and a grandson, Christopher Bentley.
Survived by 5 sons and 1 daughter along with their families; ; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
