James E. Bevan, 63, of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in West Penn Forbes Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1949, in Irwin, a son of the late Norman and Genevieve (Leonard) Bevan. He was a retired history teacher for Norwin School District and a member of the Jacktown Ride and Hunt Club and the Italian Miners Society. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Drahusz and her husband, George, of Wilmington, Del., and Stacy Sayers and her husband, Robert, of Irwin; grandchildren, Quinton and Ava Drahusz and Trinity and Trenton Sayers; brothers Norman "Jerry" Bevan, of Florida, and Dennis Bevan, of Arona; also nieces and nephews. There will be no viewing. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, 617 Main St., Irwin, with the Rev. Ronald H. Wakeman officiating. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to a charity of choice .
