Funeral services for Willie Gaylon Couch, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in 11th and Amarillo Church of Christ with Dr. Max Browning, pastor of First United Methodist Church and Thomas Richburg, deacon at 11th and Amarillo Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery with military graveside services.

Mr. Couch died at 12:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 20, 1925, in Foley. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and in 1946 after his discharge, he moved to Plainview. He was a building contractor and worked for Larson Co. from 1975 to 1990 when he retired.

He was a member of 11th and Amarillo Church of Christ, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

On April 10, 1947, he married Marie Eugenie Borle. She died Oct. 9, 1992. He married Evelyn Jacobs Raper on Nov. 26, 1994, in Plainview.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis Couch and his wife Patricia of Plainview; a stepson, Kelly Raper, and his wife Janet of Houston; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

A grandchild and a brother are deceased.

The family suggests memorials to Hands of West Texas Hospice in Lockney.
