Born in Lamar County, Alabama, she was the daughter of Milo Nelson Chandler (1898-1976) and Juler Real Chandler (1900-1989) of Detroit, Alabama.
Siblings: Drolan Chandler (1919-2003), Reyburn Chandler (1923-1974), Roberta Chandler Finney (1926-2014) and Doyle Ruston Chandler (1928-2004),
She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Martin V. Shelton; daughters; Myra Goode Jones (Glenn), Linda McDonald Watts (Joel), and Regina McDonald Watts (David); Grandchildren; April Goode Rogers (Michael), Rachel Watts Martin (John), Dr. Joel Watts, Jr. (Maggie), Suzanne Watts Kreth (Matthew), Ashley Watts Strong (Cole), Bethany Watts Jarvis (Shaun), and nineteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Fred McDonald (1928-1998); Her Parents and four Siblings.
Diane lived in Forestdale-Birmingham area most of her life. She was a charter member of Detroit, Pike Avenue, and Forestdale Church of God where she was currently a member. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, seamstress, church librarian, choir member, Sunday School teacher, homemaker, but most of all a faithful child of God. She was given to hospitality and service, a Bible scholar and prayer warrior.
The family will receive friends on Saturday November 23, 2019 from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home in Adamsville. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home chapel with Eugene McCarley and John Adams officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
