Visitation will be today from noon-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brother Thomas Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Velma Lamar; wife, Bertha Lee Burns Lamar; son, J.D. Lamar; daughter, Lana Lamar; brothers, Eugene "Buster" and Charles Lamar; and a sister, Catherine "Cat" Lamar.
He is survived by his son, Charles Lamar (Kay), daughters, Janice Lamar, Judy Graham (Dan), and Lisa Mayes (Jon), and brother, Leon Lamar (Wanda), all of Florence; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; and two very loyal and loving companions, Shorty and Peanut.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons Jerry Graham "Jr.", and Ricky Lamar, great-grandsons, Jonathan and Jordan Mayes, Chris Silva, and Payton Graham.
