Funeral services for Hugh Bernard Saxon, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mr. Saxon died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, in Methodist Hospital Plainview.

He was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Dicie, Miss. He served in World War II and retired after 21 years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a jeweler for Payne´s Jewelry for 15 years and V´s Jewelry for two years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wesley Bible Class where he served as treasurer for 12 years, the American Legion and was on the Salvation Army Advisory Board.

On Sept. 17, 1976, he married Shirley Tipton in Plainview.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. A.D. Harrison of Alabama and Lori Saxon of New Hampshire; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Larry "Pat" Walter of Plainview and Leann Foote of Washington; two brothers, Douglas Saxon of Louisiana, and Denver Saxon of New Mexico; four sisters, Sue Greer of Atlanta, Ga., Dixie King of Greenville, Miss., Mary Ann Nolen of Montgomery, Ala., and Hattie Jo Martin of Arkansas; one grandson, Trevor Harrison of Alabama; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandsons.

Pallbearers will be Frank Gabriel, John Perry, John Carter, Jim Lambert, Joe Leach and Darren Foster.

The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church.
