Maggie Buford moved to Texas with her mother and step-father around 1868. She married Ben Cox, former Texas Ranger, on 17 Jul 1872, and had two children. She was his first wife. Ben Cox's Ranger biography notes that Maggie died in 1881.

Married first Maggie Buford in July, 1873, in Fannin County, Texas; she died March 14, 1881, in Fannin County. Married second Lizzie Skipworth July 12, 1881, in Fannin County; she died in 1918. Married third Mrs. Emily Burchfield Regan March 14, 1924, in Grayson County, Texas; she was born July 8, 1876. Application based on service in Captain G.H. Richarz's Company E
from September 9, 1870, to June 15, 1871. Application approved.

I can locate no marker, although there is a Margaret P. Cox at Ladonia, but I think that is too far away. She was near Ivanhoe in the 1880 Census, and there is evidence that her mother, Jane Buford Taylor and the rest of the family lived near Elwood before moving north to Wade, Indian Territory in 1896. She might be buried anywhere, but this cemetery is as likely as any, and more likely than many.
