William Merritt Johnson, Jr., 94, husband of Loretta Johnson, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Born in Akron OH, he was a son of the late William Merritt and Sadie Robertson Johnson.

He was a farmer. He attended Western University and the University of Kentucky. He was a member of Macedonia Christian Church.

Survivors other than his wife are a son, Dr. William (Connie) Johnson, DMD, Franklin KY; a daughter, Sarah (John) Quilici, San Martin, CA; grandchildren, Phoebe Jane (Tyler) Southwood, Victoria, Canada, Leigh Carol (Patrick) Cronin, Merritt Johnson and Bret Johnson; five great grandchildren, Seamus, Gilbert, Porter and Harlan Cronin, and Leaf Oldwood.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Southwood and his first wife, Evelyn Creech Johnson.

Funeral service will be 10am. Monday at the Macedonia Christian Church. Burial will be in Creech Cemetery at Pine Mountain, KY. Visitation will be from 9am to 10am. Monday at the church. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
