Roy Vance Brown, age 74, passed away on May 19, 2017 at Community Howard Regional in Kokomo. Roy was born on February 25, 1943 to Hobson and Ruby (Gibbons) Brown. He married Joyce Brown on January 6, 1963 and they celebrated 54 years of marriage together.
Roy enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family. He loved animals, he had a pet squirrel named Daisy that will miss him dearly. Roy worked at Millbank in Kokomo for a number of years prior to his retirement.
Roy is survived by his wife Joyce; three children Roy (Connie) Brown, Connie Myers, and Charles (Pennie) Brown; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers William Brown and Carl (Sharon) Brown; four sisters Florine Jones, Racheal Johnson, Joyce Anderson, and Irene Buster. Also surviving are two sister in-laws Mary Devoss and Shirley Clark; and one brother in-law Dale Comstock; and several nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his grandparents Martha and Thomas Gibbons and his parents Ruby and Hobson Brown; mother in-law Victoria Willen; and four brothers Neat Brown, Arthur Brown, George Brown, and David Brown.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday May 23, 2017 from noon to 2 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation. Interment will follow in Windfall’s Brookside Cemetery.
