Mary Bernardine Faulkner was born September 20, 1923 in San Antonio, Texas to John and Ethel Douglas. She grew up in the Los Angeles area and attended Los Angeles schools. She was married to Rex Faulkner in 1942 for 37 years and had two children, Bernadette and Rex Jr. (now deceased).

She was one of the first working moms and was employed by Pacific Bell Telephone Company, The May Company, Los Angeles Unified School District and Twedell Glass and Mirror. She resided in the communities of Baldwin Park, Azusa, Pacific Palisades, South Laguna, and Diamond Bar.

Bernardine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bernadette and Greg Cullen, daughter-in-law Laureen, grandchildren Lyndon, Laurel, Greg Jr., Heather, Eva, great-grandchildren Pauline, Briana, Christopher, Kaitlain, Kody, Orion, and Quentin, her sister and brother-in-law Ethel Lee and Hal Lawson, and numerous loving nephews and nieces. Called her Grandma Bunnie, her family was the center of her life and she loved them all dearly.
