JULIUS S. DYER RITES CONDUCTED
Funeral services for Julius Dyer were held Monday afternoon at the Waggener and Campbell chapel by the Rev. O. D. Harris of Central Christian church. Two hymns were sung by Bill Carr accompanied at the organ by Mrs. J. M. Carlson.
Nephews acting as pallbearers were Kornel Fagerland Jr., Kornel Fagerland, Ernest Fagerland, Roy Plummer, Elbert Dyer and Ed L. Anderson. Burial was in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.
BORN IN COLORADO
Julius Sylvester Dyer was born Jan. 6, 1877 at Walsenburg, Colo. to B. L. and Ruth Turner Dyer. At the age of four he moved with his family to Georgia and a few years later to Texas. They then returned to Colorado and in 1889 came to Montana to make their home in the Creston area east of Kalispell.
Mr. Dyer was married to Miss Bertha Truman in 1899 and they lived later in Kalispell moving to Sandpoint, Idaho about 30 years ago and later to Walla Walla, Wash. They then moved to Grants Pass, Ore. and operated a grocery store there until retirement a few years ago.
Mr. Dyer died at Grants Pass Jan. 1, 1952 at the age of 75. Surviving are his wife, Bertha, of Grants Pass; six children, Turner and Raymond of Redding, Calif.; Mrs. Margaret Gates and Ivin Dyer, both of Seattle; Mrs. Lois Thielke and Mrs. Reva Millegan, both of Grants Pass. There are also seven grandchildren, one brother Joseph C. Dyer of Kalispell, and one sister, Mrs. Rose Barckley of Whitesboro, Texas.
