Russell Lee (Rusty) Patterson, Sr. 55 of Ewing, Mo., died June 24, 2012, at Ewing, Mo.
He was born July 26, 1956, at Kirksville, Mo., the son of Charles Earnest and Bonnie Lee Blaine Patterson. He was united in marriage to Linda Faye Karhoff at Ewing, Mo., on August 1, 1975. She died January 9, 2005.
Rusty received his education at Ewing, Mo. He was employed as a welder for several years at Trinity Industries and Manchester Tank both of Quincy, Ill., and was employed at Blessing Hospital for a time. He enjoyed hunting fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are four children, Heather Jarvis and Husband Darron, Shelly Burbridge and husband Arron, all of Canton, Rusty Patterson, Jr. of LaBelle, and Amy Walter and husband Chad of Ewing. Also surviving are his mother Bonnie Lee Patterson Smith of Canton, two brothers, Clyde Patterson and wife Judy of Lewistown, Jerry Patterson of Ewing, and two sisters Tammy Baalman and husband John of Canton, and Teresa McKenzie and husband Joe of Canton, seven grandchildren, Olivia and Abigail Jarvis, Tegan, Evan and Ian Burbridge, Jenna and Raymond (R.J.) Walter, his fiancée Kathy Elder of Ewing and her children and grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife and an infant son.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. on June 27, 2012, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Mo. Musical selections will be Daddy's Hands, Amazing Grace and Sunday Morning Coming Down. Casket bearers will be Bonnie Patterson, Jack Suter, Mary Conger, Diane Patterson, Ronnie Conger and Susie Patterson. Honorary bearers will be Clyde Patterson, Jerry Patterson, Rusty Patterson, Jr., Sandy Patterson, Terry Nichols, Steve Bugh, John Baalman, Joe McKenzie, Darron Jarvis, Arron Burgridge, Jin Eggers, Steve Bradley, Lonnie Couch, Bobby Couch and Chad Walter.
Burial will be in the Bible Grove Cemetery.
