Mr. Ellison, 51, of Swansea, died Wednesday in Richland Memorial Hospital. Born in Garfield, Ga., he was a son of the late Joe L. and Lizzie Lee Ellison. He was a member of the Church of God of Swansea, a World War II veteran, and a retired employee of the Coca Cola Bottling Co. He was also a member of REACT.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Peggy McCaston Ellison; a daughter, Mrs. Faye Tyler of Charleston; a son, Joe M. Ellison of Augusta, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Billie Jean Furtick and Mrs. Deborah Burgess of Columbia; three stepsons, Keith and William McCaston and Marvin Wilson, all of Columbia; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Edwards and Mrs. June Bailey of Columbia, Mrs. Bertha Woods of Waynesboro, Ga., and Mrs. Ethel Cosanan of Augusta; three brothers, Esko Ellison of Garfield, Robert Ellison of Meadow, Ga., Otis Ellison of Columbus, Ga.; two grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.
