SHELBYVILLE, Mo. — Mrs. Mahala Harvey, 88, of Bethel, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday (Jan. 23, 1981) in the Salt River Nursing Home where she had been a resident for two years.
She was born in Shelby County, Aug. 27, 1892, a daughter of John and Caroline Case Tungate. She married Charles A. Harvey, Aug. 6, 1913, in Macon. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and the Royal Neighbors Lodge.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Alberta Wood and Mrs. Louise Daugherty, both of Bethel, and Mrs. Agnes Hawkins of La Mesa, Calif.; seven sons, Richard of Shelbyville, Dwaine of Hunnewell, Lee Ed of Atlanta, James of Monroe City, Billy of East Moline, Ill., Donald of Independence and Lestel of Bloomington, Ind.; 30 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in the Greening Funeral Home in Shelbyville, conducted by the Rev. John Gorham. Burial will be in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery, north of Bethel.
