Some of the boards he was on include Wilkes University, King's College, Keystone Junior College, Geisinger Danville Hospital, the Wilkes-Barre Ballet and the Wilkes-Barre Philharmonic.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marcie Jones; his daughters, Jennifer and Janice Jones; and his grandsons, Owen and Simon Transue.
There will be a private graveside ceremony for the immediate family at Oak Lawn Cemetery on Friday.
