OBITUARY
Windham Journal
Thursday, April 13, 1893
Mrs. Elizabeth Abrams died in Durham, April 8d, of apoplexy. She had reached the age of 99 years. The funeral was held at the residence of her son, Mr. Nelson Abrams, on Thursday morning, April 0th. Notwithstanding the very bad traveling, quite a large number assembled at the house. Bev. F. J, Pohl at Durham, gave an excellent discourse from 1st Thes. iv, 18: "Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.” The deceased was a member of the Christian Church. She had been quite smart for a lady at that extreme age until recently.
Her remains were in charge of Mr. Joel B. Chittenden, undertaker, and the interment was in what is known as the Budd burying ground, near Greenville. Deceased was a Christian lady. An old landmark in Durham has gone to rest. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord."
