James “Jim” Hamilton Hunt, died May 19, 2017, at his residence, Evergreen Estates, Clarkston. Born May 26, 1923, in East Pepperill, Mass., he grew up in Jamaica, Queens, New York City.

James served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946 and also from 1948 to 1949.

James married Carol Davis Bower in Detroit in June 1945. He made his home in Boise from 1956 until 2013. Carol passed away in 2009.

James married Eileen George from Elk City in February 2011, in Lewiston.

James was a certified public accountant from 1960 to 1994 in Boise and Caldwell. He was a Realtor, member of Toastmasters, Kiwanis and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. James loved fishing, camping, hunting, golfing and improving his home and garden areas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, on Aug. 18, 2009; and parents Nellie and Louis Hunt.

The family expresses sincere thanks to all Jim’s friends, doctors, Tri-State Hospital ER, Evergreen Estates staff and Elite Hospice for the love, friendship and care-giving. God bless you all.

The family will greet friends and family at a visitation memorial to honor and celebrate Jim’s life from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Summers Funeral Homes, 3629 E. Ustick Road, Meridian, Idaho. A private family burial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise.
