Myra Elizabeth "Bettie" Bare was the daughter of Joshua Bare Sr. and his third wife Margie Johnson with whom he also had Clarisa Cathra "Clersy" (1869-1946), Joshua Jr.(1873-1913) and Arabelle Bare (1879-1954).

Bettie married Silas Watt Fuqua on February 12, 1893 in Piggott, Clay County, Arkansas. They had: Effie Ione, Clara, David, Verda "Verdie," and Valentine.
