Earl Fayard, Sr., 78, of Biloxi, passed away in Brazoria, TX on Thursday, January 25, 2007.
Mr. Fayard was born on January 16, 1929 and was a native of Biloxi as well as one of the founding families of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Seafood Industry. He graduated from Biloxi High in 1947 and was the founder of Ocean Springs Seafood, which opened in 1952. He served as President of the Ocean Springs Lions Club from 1960 to 1961, and was a member of the Governor's staff under Governor Paul B. Johnson from 1964 to 1968. He was also Councilman for the Mississippi Marine Conservation Commission.
Mr. Fayard was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Elfine Rushing Fayard; a son, Kenneth Wayne Fayard and a daughter Lucy Elfine Fayard.
Survivors include his wife, Alyce Fayard of Brazoria, TX; his two children; son, Earl and wife, Linda Fayard; daughter, Alison and husband, Larry Hill and their mother, Ruby Alliston Fayard all of Ocean Springs; two step-daughters, Christina Breaux and Kim Longoria both of Texas; grandchildren, Keely Rochelle Dinero, Karrie Ann Fayard Nelson, Bethany Fayard, Cletes Wayne Dinero, Joshua Brandon Hill, Marion L. Hill V., Jennifer Lynn Hill, Nathan Earl Houston Fayard, Sean Anthony Hill, Jennifer Jordan Hill, Johnathan Breaux, Alisha Breaux, Nicole Breaux, Joshua Longoria and Jacob Longoria; great-grandchildren, Mari Kimble Fayard, Gracie Abreonna Hill, Kaitlin McGillvary, Aiden Foster Fayard and Sofie Wynn Nelson.
