Appleton Harmon.
Appleton Harmon of Holden, and brother to the Harmon boys of this city, died of typhoid pneumonia on last Wednesday night, the 18th inst. About two months ago deceased visited with his brothers in this city, and it was at this time the writer made his acquaintance. Shortly after his return home he was taken sick with that dread fever, typhoid, and ll the skill that could be employed was of no avail. Appleton Harmon was a remarkably well built man, standing 6 fee 8 in his stocking feet, and weighed over 300 pounds. Throughout Utah he was known as the giant of the state. He was credited with being a man of broad and generous nature, and enjoyed the friendship of all his acquaintances. He was idolized by his brothers, and his death is a sad blow to them. Deceased was about 40 years of age.
