Alpheus Noe was the son of Benjamin Marsh Noe & Abigail "Abby" Higgins Brookfield Noe. Originally from New Jersey, USA. AE Noe's earliest profession was as a silversmith in Philadelphia, PA. He worked for the Philadelphia mint for awhile. Known for his finely made coin silver tableware all of his items are marked A.E. Noe. Alpheus was first married to Margeret Eittermary and they had 1 child, Josephine Florence Noe. In the 1860's Alpheus moved to Ohio and married Agnes E. Brownlee. Florence was sent to a Catholic boarding school. Alpheus and Agnes resided in Kansas City for a few years but returned to Ohio. They had 3 children, Clare, Maud and Lee. Alpheus spent his later years in an Ohio facility for the blind while Agnes moved with her son Lee to her brothers farm in Kansas.
