Terry Bassham, 47, of Old River, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Terry was born in Channelview, Texas on December 16, 1969 to Jerry Bassham and Claudette Badgett.
Terry was first and foremost a family man. He spent 28 years with his soul mate, Peggy, loving her, pestering her, and keeping her laughing. Terry cherished making memories with his sons, Cody and Casey, taking them hunting and fishing. His family was the joy of his life. He spent many hours reminiscing about the lessons learned from his Papaw who taught him all about nature.
When Terry wasn't working he could be found out in his shop making fishing lures. He was so proud that he had just finished construction on a new shop. Terry also always found time to spend with family at the river camp or serving as head cook at the deer camp. Whether it was fishing, hunting all types of game, especially alligators, or deer roping, Terry loved to be outdoors.
Terry will never be forgotten. His quick wit and fun-loving ways will always be remembered by those who loved him.
Terry is preceded in death by his brother William (Billy) Bassham.
Terry is survived by his wife Peggy Bassham, son Cody Bassham and Becca and future granddaughter Paisley, son Casey Bassham, his mother Claudette Badgett and husband Randy, father Jerry Bassham and wife JoAnne, brother Ryan Hyde, step-brother Jody Jackson and wife Stacey, step-sister Susan Reed and husband Bill, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 1, 2017 beginning at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown TX 77521. Services will be Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be officiated by Rev. Ronnie Webb. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown TX.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Owens, Jason Owens, Cody Bassham, Casey Bassham, Gene Brown, and Ryan Hyde. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dink Hutter, Steve Owens, and Ricky Castaneda.
