Pastor of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in San Fernando, California, for 6 years, from 1956 until his death in 1962. Son of Richard and Minnie (Donovan) Lynch of Boston, Rev. Father Edward Lynch, O.M.I., was a Catholic priest of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, ordained on June 15, 1937. From his obituary in the Los Angeles Times, Sept. 23, 1962:

"Edward J. (M.) Lynch:
Recitation of the Office of the Dead for the Very Rev. Edward J. Lynch, 55, will be held at St. Ferdinand's Catholic Church, San Fernando, at 8 p.m. today. Solemn Requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Interment will follow in the San Fernando Mission Cemetery. Father Lynch, pastor of St. Ferdinand's since 1956, died Friday. He was born in Boston and ordained in 1937 in Washington, D.C. During World War II and the Korean War, he served as a Navy chaplain. He was awarded the Bronze Star for service in Korea. Father Lynch leaves a brother, Joseph, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Murphy, both of Boston."
