Carrol Jean Riley-DeGier, 72-years-old, died on Sunday, July 24th, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI. Over the past few years, Carrol had suffered from various illnesses, but had a stroke on Friday, July 8th, leaving her with paralysis on her right side. After a few days, she developed pulmonary embolisms, which eventually took her life.

Carrol was born on July 31, 1943 in Herman, Minnesota, daughter of Francis and Virginia (Stoneberg) Crow. The middle child of three girls.
Known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, even as a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a forward and truthful demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, and challenged others. Her signature gift of joy was shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, which will never be forgotten.
After graduating from Morris High School in 1961; Carrol married Jim Riley in September of that same year in Morris. Married for 23 years, Jim and Carrol raised their four sons
.In 1984 Carrol and Jim divorced, and Carrol remarried the love of her life, Brad DeGier in 1990.
Carrol was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Kyle.
