David was a family researcher and civil war expert. "Saturday, June 10, at St Luke Lutheran Church, 9100 Colesville Rd, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910: viewing at 10:00 AM, followed by a service celebrating David's life at 11:00 AM. Following the church service there will be a light luncheon served. Then David, friends and family will travel to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for burial with military honors at Evergreen Cemetery, with a graveside service at 3:00 PM. This will be followed by a meal at a nearby restaurant. Everyone is invited to participate as fully as they wish. David always loved a good gathering, so I hope we can send him off with one -- all are invited to celebrate his life with us. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gettysburg Foundation, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania 17325 in his name. Thank you all for the kind words and expressions of sympathy -- his family finds comfort in being surrounded by friends and neighbors at this time." June 5, 2017-Message from his widow, Carol.
