WILLIAM STICKNEY, b. in Bradford, Feb. 4, 1772; m. in Hallowell, Me., Dec, 1800, Anna Smith, who was b.in Canaan, Me., Feb. 6, 1774, and d. in Carthage, May 31, 1848.

May 6, 1797. He, of Hallowell, Lincoln Co., Mass.(now Maine),tobacconist,buys of Asa Robinson of H., land in Bradford [Essex Deeds, 161 : 304],which he with consent of wife, Anna Stickney, when of Hallowell,sells to Sylvanus Hardy of Bradford, Feb. 7, 1803.[Ibid, 172 : 80.]

He removed from Bradford to Hallowell, about 1796;went to Chesterville, Franklin Co., Me., in 1806 ; was a farmer there till 1834, when he removed to Carthage, Me., and lived with his son Thomas, to whom he had given his property, and who was to take care of his parents till their decease. He died in Carthage, Me., Dec. 22, 1855.
