Robert A. Busch, 87, of Batavia, and formerly of Elgin, IL passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora. He was born February 27, 1930, in Chicago the son of Alexander and Ada (Heberg) Busch. He was united in marriage to Marie DeSanto June 4, 1955 in New Jersey.
Lt. Robert A. Busch served honorably as a Naval aviator during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955. He earned the national defense service medal and the Navy Occupations service medal.
Robert was an all-American Swimmer at the University of Iowa in 1949.
Robert also attended the Northwestern University. Robert was a medical supplies sales representative for many years. He was also an avid hunter and fly fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Marie of Batavia, Kathy Lynn (Christopher) Curl of Batavia, Honorable Kevin T. (Mariann) Busch of Batavia and Jo-Ann (Timothy) O'Neil of Geneva; six grandchildren; Rachel (Andrew) Didier, Rebecca (Todd) Schaefer, Robert and Michael O'Niel and Alexandra and Francesca Busch and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Zander John Busch.
A private interment and military honors was held in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
