Donald M. Rouch, age 82, went to be with his savior and Lord on September 1, 2015 at his residence in Columbus, Ohio. Donald was born in Wapello, Iowa in July of 1933. Following graduation at Montpelier High School he received his Bachelor degree in Accounting and Marketing from Bliss College in 1957. His insurance career began with Western Adjustment Co. of Chicago, IL serving as a property and casualty adjuster. Later he became a marine surveyor and general adjuster with Landen Adjustment Company, Inc. During this tenure he was promoted to Executive Vice-President and eventually President of the Corporation. Following this period he was a Multi-Line claims manager with Physicians Insurance Company as well as the Professionals Insurance Company of Ohio. Subsequent to his retirement in 1995 he served 10 years as a consultant in the medical malpractice litigation field for various insurance companies across the U.S. Donald served 3 years on the National Advisory Counsel of Insurance Adjusters. He also served 2 years in the U.S. Army primarily in Korea. Donald's memberships included- First Christian Church of Fort Wayne, IN, the Masonic Lodge of Montpelier, OH, the Ohio Claims Club, the Blue Goose Insurance Association, Phi Theta Pi a business fraternity, the Association of Research & Enlightenment of Virginia Beach. He was also a past trustee of the Brentwood Civic Association and was a ranch hand at the Buckeye Ranch in Grove City, OH. Donald was an avid tennis player belonging to the Swim & Racquet Club of Upper Arlington as well as a long time member of the Racquet Club of Columbus, the Wickertree Racquet Club, and the U.S.T.A. He participated in many tournaments over a 30 year period as the competition brought him a great deal of joy and satisfaction. He always said "winning is great! but competing was even better." Donald was preceded in death by his parents Forest M. and Lola Ruth (Schooling) Rouch of Montpelier, OH, sisters Juanita (Alfred) Daeger of Paulding, OH, Shirley (Dennis) Brown of Montpelier, OH. Donald is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Utt) Rouch; daughter, Dianne L. Rouch; brother-in-law, Alfred Daeger; and many nieces and nephews. Donald always felt a great pleasure in life was taking family trips to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Virginia Beach and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He will be missed by all who appreciated his independent spirit and good humor. A memorial service will be held at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME 1177 W. 5th Avenue, Columbus, from 3-5 p.m. on September 20, 2015. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Ohio Health Hospice, POB 600001, Columbus (43272).
