Richard was born March 19, 1932, in Johnson City, Tennessee, to Alvin Jennings Bryant and Nola Alice Kidwell. When Dick was 7 yrs of age, his family moved from Tennessee to Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he attended school through high school. Dick attended Louisiana State University and earned his Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 1963, which led him to practice in all but 3 states in the country. Dick was very proud of his service in the United States Army 24thInfantry Division in Korea during the Korean War. During his lifetime, Dick was a rancher, a rodeo bronc and bull rider (of sorts), an Architect, a project planner and manager, a builder, a real estate broker,and a consultant. Dick served on City boards and commissions in Irving and Highland Village, Texas. Dick married Patricia Faye Chadbourne in Alfred, Maine, on August 29,1998.
Dick is survived by his wife, Patricia; son Michael Nolan Bryant, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Jennings Bryant.
