Adam Garrett Bragg

November 03, 1972 - June 08, 2017

Adam Garrett Bragg passed away suddenly June 8th 2017. Adam was born November 3, 1972 in Long Beach, CA.

He left us to be with his father, Bob Bragg in heaven on June 8. Adam is remembered by his mother, Jeann of Vacaville, brother Ahron of Las Vegas, Aunt Andean Malone of Los Angeles, Uncle Robert Byrd of Las Vegas, God Sister Teiahsha Bankhead of Oakland California and countless friends and colleagues across the country.

Adam’s outgoing, infectious personality made him friends quickly everywhere he travelled, and Adam loved to travel. Whether for work or pleasure, (Adam really saw work as pleasure) he took every opportunity to jump on a plane and go “wheels up.”

Adam began his career with an interest in TV and Radio working at radio station KUIC in Vacaville. He soon developed a love for serving and protecting his community and first became an EMT/Firefighter for the City of Rio Vista before moving on to become a dispatcher for the UC Berkeley Police Department, and soon after, a Police Officer. Adam spent over 20 years in law enforcement, where he worked in crime scene investigation and reconstruction, patrol, code enforcement/POP, undercover narcotics, parks, and public information. During Adam’s career with UC Berkeley, Isleton Police, City of Elk Grove, and the Fulton-El Camino Park Police, Adam worked on the Solano County drug task force, on ICE/FBI task forces and promoted up through the ranks to Lieutenant. He also volunteered his time at the Fairfield-Suisun Public Safety Academy as a Drill Instructor. He received numerous awards and commendations for his protection of the community including several from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Mothers Against Drunk Driving Hero Award.

As a strong proponent of education, after receiving his Master’s Degree in Emergency Management from CSU Long Beach, Adam’s last efforts were educating the next generation of police officers as a Recruit Training Officer at the Sacramento Regional Public Safety Training Center, where he was well respected by his fellow instructors and by his recruits.

Services and honors for Adam will include a viewing Thursday, June 15 at Vaca Hills Chapel in Vacaville from 5-8pm. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 16 at The Mission church at 11am, followed by a burial at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Repass will be held at Veterans Memorial Hall in Vacaville on 549 Merchant St. from 2:00-6:00pm following burial services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Adam’s name can be made to Law Enforcement Chaplaincy - Sacramento. 2500 Marconi Ave., Suite 210 Sacramento CA 95822.
