Esther D. Coffman, 83, of Corydon, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Norton Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. She was born June 11, 1934, in Corydon, to the late John Robert and Charlotte Miller Hoback. She was a retired assistant vice president in charge of personnel at Chase Bank in Charlestown, Indiana and at the old Corydon State Bank in Corydon, was formerly employed at the old Dream Theatre and Hurst Miles Hardware Store both in Corydon, and was a member of the Corydon Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dallas Hoback; her sisters, Dollie Mae Hoback and Betty Crawford; and her brother-in-law, Bobby Shumaker.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, David A. Coffman; her son, Dennis R. Coffman of Jeffersonville, Indiana; her grandsons, Jason Coffman (Amanda) of Elizabeth, Indiana, Michael Coffman (Lindsay) of New Albany, Indiana, and David Coffman (Hannah) of New Albany; her brothers, Bobby Hoback (Dianne) of Clarksville, Indiana, and John Hoback (Shannon) of Mauckport, Indiana; her sisters, Becky Shumaker of Corydon, Shirley Welman (Carl) of Jeffersonville, Barbara Smith (Jim) of Corydon, and Carolyn Hofmann (Lawrence) of Palmyra, Indiana; her brothers-in-law, Stanley Coffman (Linda) of Corydon and Ernie Crawford of Louisville; 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
