Edna was the daughter of Sol and Lizzie Willard. She was born and raised in Butte, Montana. On June 17, 1914, she married Lawrence Richard Houchins. They had two children, Lawrence Edward and Virginia, born in Montana. The family moved to California, where Lawrence died in 1921. Sometime before 1940, Edna married James E. Evans, who was employed as a draftsman at an architectural firm in San Francisco. Edna died at the Laguna Honda Home in San Francisco, according to her funeral record and was interred at Woodlawn Cemetery.
