Jesse Preston Knighten, 69, of 101 Fourth Lane, Pleasant Grove, died Monday. He was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, and retired from the maintence department of U.S. Steel. He was a veteran of the Navy. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oakland Cemetery, angwin directing. He is survived by two sons, J.P. Knighten Jr., Las Vegas, Nev., and Roy A. Knighten, Birmingham: a daugther, Mrs. Jeanette Vick, Birmingham: three sisters, Mrs. Ella McQueen, Mrs. Ruby Jones, and Mrs. Irene Moore, all of Birmingham, and two brothers, Ollie A. Knighten Sr. and James E. Knighten, both of Birmingham.
