Harold Webster "Webb" Babcock, Jr.
August 30, 1941 - June 17, 2017

Harold Webster “Webb” Babcock, Jr., 75, of Amherst, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Barbara Coleman Babcock.

Born in Lynchburg, August 30, 1941, he was a son of the late Virginia Moses and H. Webster “Webb” Babcock, Sr. He was the owner of Webb’s Sporting Goods, Madison Heights and was a 1958 graduate of Amherst High School. Webb was a member of the Izaak Walton Park. He taught and loved archery, and was well known in the archery circles throughout Virginia and the East Coast.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Dawn of Lynchburg; two sons and their wives, Tony and Shannon and David and Tammy all of TN; two sisters, Patricia B. House and husband, Marvin “Bo” of Appomattox and Gaye Keiffert of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; Traci and Mike, B.H., M.J. and Amy, Susan and Joey; nine great-nieces and nephews; and one aunt, Rachel Babcock of Amherst.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Robinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Babcock Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Robinson Funeral Home.
