Julie A. (Yourchisin) Acierno, 67, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Michael C. Acierno; together they shared over 41 years of marriage.
Julie was born in Sharon, PA and was the daughter of the late John and Ann (Dwulit) Yourchisin. She graduated from Hermitage High School class of 1968 and earned a BS in Education from Edinboro University. She was an Art teacher for over 35 years teaching at Southern Elementary, Friendship Elementary and Shrewsbury Elementary Schools. She was a member of the PA State Teachers Assoc., and St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church in York. She enjoyed painting and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Mike, she is survived by her son, Jason M. Acierno and his wife, Katie of Timonium, MD; and her grandchildren, Evan and Nathan. She is also survived by her brother, George Yourchisin of Sharon, PA; her sister, Irene Miklos and husband, Bob of Idaho; and her nephews, Josh and Bobby.
Family and friends are invited to her viewings on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove and on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at St. John Chrysostom Orthodox Church, 2397 Sherman St., York 17402 and followed by her Funeral Service of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Peter Pier at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Julie's memory may be made to St. John Chrysostom Orthodox Church, 2397 Sherman St., York, PA 17402 or Cancer Care Assoc., 25 Monument Rd., Suite 294, York, PA 17403.
