Joan Phyllis Lenard, 81, died Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Born Aug. 10, 1935, in Kingsman, Kan., she was the daughter of the late John F. Ehmke and Harvella Shapard Ehmke.

She worked as a nurse’s aide and was affiliated with the Lutheran church in Colorado.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shierly Pontius, and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include five children, Rick Lind (Lori) of Loogootee, Debbie Lind (Larry) of Kennsaw, Ga., Danny King of English, Betty Norman (Chuck) of Leopold, and Rusty Lenard (Christy) of Leavenworth; two siblings, John Ehmke and Lillian Walace; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation: Saturday, May 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 28, after 10 a.m. at Denbo Funeral Home in English. Funeral: Sunday, May 28, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Published in the Clarion News Wednesday, June 7,2017 Page B 4.
