Lillian, 96, of Bellevue passed away June 18, 2017 at her residence. Lillian was born to Melvin and Anna (Pearle) Root.

She married Donald C. Van Syckle. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1990. Lillian was a homemaker, working in the home and raising their children. She also worked as a waitress at the Riverside Café in Bellevue for 5 years.

Lillian enjoyed fishing, gardening, and mushroom hunting. She also enjoyed gambling at the casino, and the thrill of scratch-off lottery tickets.

Lillian is survived by 2 daughters, Lola Sue (Mathis) LeClear of Bellevue, and Sharon D. (Donald) Atkins of Lake Alfred, FL; 13 grandchildren; and many great, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Anna Root; husband, Donald Van Syckle; son, Donald R. Van Syckle; and daughter, Anna P. Van Syckle.

A funeral service took place at the funeral home on Thursday June 22, 2017 with Pastor Steve Doty officiating. Lillian was laid to rest next to her husband, Donald, in Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue.
