TUSCALOOSA – Nellie Rea Pinion Woods, age 86, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died June 19, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Woods; parents, Archie and Nettie Pinion; and sister, Kathleen Byars.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheron Powers (Mike); sisters, Della Ruth Atkins, Gladys Thomas of Tuscaloosa and Dorene Keating of Reform; and grandchildren, Sarah Powers, Ryan Powers (Jami) and Patrick Powers.
Pallbearers will be her nephews and grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Susan Bostick, staff of Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or American Leukemia Society.
