Jimmie Dale Steele, affectionately called Burrhead, of Liberty, Ms., peacefully left this earth Monday, June 12, 2017 at the age of 54. Mr. Steele was born November 16, 1962 to Joe and Ruby Gordon Steele. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he gave his life to Christ at the age of nine. He took great pride in being a lifetime resident of Liberty, Amite County, Mississippi. There he enjoyed supporting Amite School Center in any way he was needed. He also coached the younger girls' softball team. He loved Ethel Vance Park, where he was employed, and he strived everyday to make the park a beautiful and desirable place to visit. Jimmie's friends were his special treasures he kept tucked inside his big, loving heart. Mr. Steele was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Gordon Steele and a stepsister, Karen Whittington Waldrop.

Survivors include his father, Joe Steele and his wife, Charlotte; and his sister, Theresa Steele Duck and her husband Clayton. He has three nephews, Clay Duck and his wife Haley; Dan Duck, Will Waldrop and one great Nephew, Bryston Duck and soon to be Baby Duck. Also a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation is Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, Mississippi, from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral services Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral Home , officiated by Rev. Clay Duck and Rev. Blaine Stafford. He will be laid to rest in Liberty Cemetery.
