NEWPORT NEWS - Barbara Ann Fox Abbott, born April 24, 1935, in Newport News, Va., died June 20, 2017. Barbara was active in the Norge Saddle Club holding various positions over the span of 45 years. She was a member of the Willamsburg Hunt Club and also a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon R. Abbott, son, Gordon E. "Butch" Abbott, parents, and siblings. Barbara is survived by her sister, Mary Lee Gregory; her grandchildren, Lindsey and Phillip Abbott; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends. Friday, June 23, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
