Ray Call was born on December 25, 1925 in West Virginia to the late Clyde Call (1891-1957) and Stella Mae Oliver-Call (1890-1974). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Wyatt-Call (1931-2014); a sister, Virginia Mae Call-Perratore (1919–2009); and a son David "Dave" Ray Call (1953-2009).
He is survived by his children, Ronald "Ronnie" Call, Donald "Denny" Gene Call (1954-2019) & wife Gale Call, Michael "Mike" Call, Steven "Steve" Call & wife Sheila Call, Lisa Call, Lynda Call-Beatty & husband Jay Beatty, and Ginny Call; daughter-in-law, Karen Call; grandchildren, Aaron, Jennifer, Bobbie Jo, Dawn, Melissa, Sarah, Brenda, Margie, Stephanie, Don, Shella, Justin, Brittany, Brian, Travis, Amber, Shannon, Cassie, Jay, Nicholas, Dawn, Brandy, Eddie, and Katelyn; 42 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, and a host of other relatives and friends.
“Papa’s” Life Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD. Services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 12:30 pm. with interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
